Still smoke-free
It’s been eight days since my temporary lapse and I successfully made it through the weekend without smoking or drinking. Feeling pretty pleased with myself as a result.
This week, I want to focus on cutting down a bit on my coffee and chocolate consumption, which seems to have partly taken the place of my nicotine addiction. Also, I want to get back to the gym again. I’ll write up some longer term diet and fitness plans in the next week or two, but for now just a couple of light runs and maybe a weight session thrown in for good measure.
Also, I’ve been considering what to do about alcohol once June is over. I decided to quit drinking for a month primarily to aid giving up smoking and it was never my intention to stop drinking completely. That said, I do want to reduce my alcohol intake in the long-term. I’m considering either the glass ceiling (only two alcoholic drinks allowed in any day) approach, or a blanket ban on alcohol Monday to Thursday with a limit on how much I can drink at the weekend. I’ll decide on which route to take later this week.
I’m off to the pub for a lime cordial to celebrate my alcohol and smoke-free weekend!
